About NPAA

To give members a choice of representation, because you have the right to choose who represents you at work. Nurses can now join a truly independent association with their RUSH subscription, not one selected by the Government or your employer. (See RUSH's subscription rates for the comparative rates.)

All employee Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Managers and Midwives can be members. AINs, Care Workers, allied health workers (physiotherapists, occupational therapists, podiatrists and psychologists), Paramedics, Wardpersons and support staff can join as affiliates. Eligibility for Professional Indemnity and legal support varies by role, contact us to check yours.

NPAA is an industrial association which is an incorporated society in Victoria. Read more about our structure here. NPAA is run by nurses, and none of your fees are donated to politicians or their parties.

Services

NPAA and RUSH support members with a range of workplace issues, including Enterprise Bargaining, pay disputes, internal disputes, bullying and more. Where a matter needs a lawyer, RUSH may pay for one in line with its terms of service. Whether we can help with a particular issue depends on the issue and those terms (for example, issues that existed before you joined may not be covered), so contact us early.

We advocate on workplace policy, procedures and system changes. Under Federal Law, you are entitled to appoint one of our NPAA representatives to the bargaining table to negotiate your Enterprise Agreement. If you have an Enterprise Agreement you'd like us to bargain for you, check the "Enterprise Bargaining Representation Request" section of your member dashboard, review the Agreements we're currently negotiating, and appoint us as your bargaining agent or complete the representation request form.

Subscription Fees

No, and no. NPAA does not donate to political parties, and your subscription fees go towards running member services.

Yes, your tax invoice/statement is emailed following each payment and can be downloaded from the billing portal in your member dashboard.

Please note, we are unable to accept resignations over the phone because we are unable to verify your identity. Your resignation must be in writing. Please head to your member dashboard, complete the membership change request form and one of our friendly staff will help process your cancellation.

Member Disputes

We can support both members in a dispute between NPAA members. If necessary, we refer matters to third-party legal representatives so the privacy of each member is protected.
